My mom and stepfather have been sponsoring students from Argentina for the past 11 years. Washington tourism offers a history of the lighthouses on the shore of the state of Washington.  the Admiralty Head Lighthouse began its life in 1861 and is still used today (but not for a lighthouse).The Spanish-American War saw the lighthouse being used to keep the unfriendly vessels out of the strait and yet direct the friendly vessels safely though the water.  It was also used as housing for the troops during WWII.The orignial wooden lighthouse was torn down in 1928 and a new one built to replace it.  The new one was activated in 1903.  Although there isn’t a need for the lighthouse to guide the ships any longer the building is still used for a gift shop and museum.

My desk fell apart during our recent move. It was really cheap when I bought it, so I am not surprised it didn’t last longer. However, this means that I need to get a new computer desk.
