Winning a lottery rarely happens. We all know that. But I know some one who actually won a huge amount last year. That someone was my mother. We were stunned when she was notified. Poor Mom could not believe her good fortune. She kept saying that it must be a mistake. When she was presented with the first very large check, we all knew there was no mistake. What to do with so much money became the question of the day. Just keeping it in the bank did not seem like a great idea. We wanted Mom to do more than just keep it safe. After several meetings with a company that assists in portfolio management, Mom feels much more at ease. She likes the idea of having her money working for her instead of just sitting around.
