There are essentially a couple main alternatives when constructing a countertop for your bar. Some people prefer to build a whole new bar counter top starting from the ground itself. Some would prefer to construct the countertop directly on a cabinet or other piece of furniture.

It is usually less expensive to choose the alternative option because you’ll only have to replace the top layer, which is available in many different choices. If your countertop sees harsher use, then you’ll want material that won’t wear, stain, or break easily. Of course, you would want your counter top to last a long time, and to be resistant to wear, tear, and the chore of constant repairs. My next post will be about - countertops.
