What is the Big Deal About a Port Authorization Code?
I moved to the U.K. from American and it took me a while to catch on to some of the differences. Driving on the “wrong” side of the road was an experience, roundabouts were a nightmare, and we will not even talk about money conversion. It was no surprise to my British friends when I had no idea why they were so concerned about getting a port authorization code. In fact, I did not even know what that was, let alone why they needed it. They patiently explained that it is a code they get from their mobile phone provider which allows them to use the same phone number with the next company. Eventually I’ll probably figure all of this out – I hope.
