The Love of My Life
I was in love. I was madly in love. It had taken me a while to realize it, but I was in love with my best friend. We had grown up together in the same area, went to school together and even applied to the same colleges. But when she was accepted to a school several states away from the one I went to, I began to realize how much I loved her. My buddies all laughed at me and made fun of me while I sulked. I didn’t waste any time, though. I bought her a simple Blue Nile engagement ring and drove all the way to propose to her. Luckily for me, she had felt the same way and said yes. It was the best decision I ever made to marry my best friend.
