Located on the South Island of New Zealand there is a city named Christchurch. This city is visited year round by tourists and natives alike, but not only because it is the largest city on the South Island many visitors come to see the Canterbury Museum. The Canterbury Museum is open every day except Christmas, but has varying hours of operation depending on the season. The best part about visiting this new Zealand landmark is that admission is always free. However, donations are accepted. This is good news for the weary and often budget minded traveler. The museum also offers free guides tours Tuesday and Thursday.
